East Central Railway (ECR) has chalked out a comprehensive plan to clear Durga Puja passengers’ rush, mainly from Patna Junction. Under the plan, railways has decided to run several pairs of special trains on different routes across the country.
According to ECR CPRO Arvind Rajak, railways has made arrangements under the direct supervision of ECR GM Madhuresh Kumar to ensure passengers’ safety in every special train. Cleanliness, lights, water and other facilities are being ensured in each special train for the convenience of passengers boarding trains from different stations, he said, adding special trains will run as per the schedule on Patna-Ahmedabad, Patna-Surat and Raxaul-Howrah routes.
The Surat-Patna premium weekly special train (09055-09056) will leave Surat every Tuesday on October 7, 14, 21 and 28 at 6am to reach Patna the next day at 10.40am. On its return journey, it will leave Patna every Wednesday on October 8, 15, 22 and 29 at 2.55pm to reach Surat next day at 8.10pm, the CPRO said.
